EG9 Old Car Riding Thread - Musical Engines

The EG9 now has a set of ITR shocks with king springs in it, which is a good cheap upgrade for anyone with an EG.


Next, it was time to sort out the b16a2. With cambelt & waterpump overdue, high km's and oil leaks I couldn't really be bothered with it, especially as I had an B18CR with fucked rings sitting round. Aaron (AccordB20A) is leading the engine build at his place and doing quite a bit of the more difficult stuff for me. It works well or both of us because he's building a B20vtec up at the same time so we are helping each other out with parts.

Anyhow, take said ITR motor



Deconstruct




Next, take one bowled $365 DC2 Auto Integra and tow home (the driver survived this hit by the way.) Motor worked sweet even after the roll, good old Honda.





Pick it up from up north and deconstruct it that same night. (ever wonder where Aaron got all of his DC2 Interior from??) :)




Deconstruct further. Shame about the rust in the water jacket but will just have to flush it out a few times i guess



Take the scrap metal outside. Failure head begone!





Purchase Overnight parts from the US & NZ, and send the head away to engine rebuilders for new valve stem seals.



Put everything aside and await reassembly.




I have some stuff left over to sell from this too, like a B18CR bottom end with worn valve stem seals (good for 1800cc EK9!!), & a b18c auto head.
